The responsibilities of a Network Cable Installer can vary significantly in scope, from installing a single outlet point in a customer's premises to setting up thousands of outlets in new office blocks or from a single fibre cable termination in a building to the installation of hundreds of fibres over many kilometres in local, national and international communities1. Key duties and tasks of a Network Cable Installer include the installation of copper cables and fibre optic cables, interpreting detailed project plans, installing network equipment in cabinets, testing and certifying network performance, maintaining safety in potentially hazardous areas such as building sites and highways and ensuring the care and maintenance of a wide range of specialist tools.
